Nike SB Shoes
Nike SB, short for Nike Skateboarding, was officially launched on March 2002 as a part of Nike, Inc., the globally recognized sports and lifestyle brand. Nike initially made attempts to penetrate the skateboarding market in the late 1990s, but it wasn't until the establishment of Nike SB that the company found its footing in this niche.
With the inception of Nike SB came the launch of the Nike Dunk SB, a variant of the iconic Nike Dunk model. The SB version featured a number of alterations specifically designed for skaters, such as padded tongues and collars, Zoom Air insoles, and a more flexible sole, all to provide enhanced comfort and durability - the essentials of a great skateboarding shoe. The Dunk SB quickly became popular not just among skaters, but also among sneakerheads, largely due to its limited-release colorways that frequently referenced music, art, and influential skaters.
The company's innovative approach didn't stop there; in 2009, it introduced the Nike SB Stefan Janoski, named after the pro skater. This model with its minimalistic design and superb functionality quickly became one of the most successful and recognizable skate shoes in the world, crossing over from the skate parks to mainstream fashion.
Over the years, Nike SB has continued to support a team of professional riders, including the likes of Eric Koston, Grant Taylor, and Nyjah Huston. They have also been known for their collaborations with notable figures and brands within and outside of skate culture, such as Supreme, Diamond Supply Co., and artist Sean Cliver.
