adidas AE 2 Release Dates
Anthony Edwards and adidas took their time in creating the adidas AE 2, the follow-up to Edwards' ultra-successful adidas AE 1, as it would take nearly two full years before the model would debut. The first adidas AE 2 was the With Love colorway, which dropped on October 4, 2025. Since then, we've seen previews of nearly a dozen different options, with more to follow in 2026.
Unlike the original AE 1, the model is done in a lower cut that's in between the mid-cut of the first AE 1 and the low-top AE 1 Low. Louvre overlays on the toe help with reinforcement and containment, while faux carbon fiber fangs on the heel also keep your foot locked in place. A textile material replaces the Generative Support Wing on the midfoot, providing more breathability.
Cushioning includes a combination of Lightboost and Lightstrike foam, with the outsole using a grippy traction pattern and a Propulsion Plate. This gives torsional support and energy return.
