But before Edwards can bring out a new silhouette this fall, The Three Stripes is making sure to pack a few more colorways of the AE 2 in for the offseason.
Gold Toes in the Land of Lakes
The adidas AE 2 Black Gold keeps the classic two-tone color blocking of most AE 2 pairs, starting with matte gold TPU paneling on the toe and winged support panels that run up either side of the toe and heel. The rest of the pair is covered in black, including on the vented paneling between the gold lines on the sides of the toe and heel.
On the tongue, a Solar Turbo red AE logo stands out from the rest of the colorway to match the adidas branding on the heel and detailing on the outsole. It’s not exact, but the blocking and gold color immediately reminded us of Steph Curry’s AE 2 PE from last season. Ultimately, though, Ant couldn’t convince the Chef to join him at adidas for more PEs.
