The Air Jordan 1 Mid is (as the name suggests) the lower, mid cut of the original Air Jordan 1 that was designed by Peter Moore and sold in 1985. The Air Jordan 1 Mid wasn’t released in 1985 alongside the high and low; Jordan Brand revived the Air Jordan 1 in the 2000s and debuted the mid-cuts this time around. Even though consumers prioritize the highs over the mids, Jordan preferred to play in the mid-top Air Jordan 1— in 2020, Sotheby’s auctioned off a sample of Michael Jordan-worn Air Jordan 1s that were confirmed to be mids.
