Steph Curry’s sneaker free agency was one of the highlights of the NBA regular season. And after the Warriors’ loss to Phoenix on Friday, Steph’s daily three-pair rotation is no longer the must-see sneaker news of the day. But before we shift all the way to baseball season, Steph is getting all his sneakers together for one last hoorah, a Sotheby’s auction benefiting his Bay Area charity, Eat. Learn. Play.
In addition to pairs of Jordans, ANTAs, Nike Kobes and Sabrina 3s, Curry is also auctioning off a pair of PEs that he hasn’t shown to the public until the auction. Another shoutout to one of his favorite current players, the adidas AE 2 PE featured a Warriors color combo in black and yellow, with a 30 graphic added to the lateral ankle and Steph’s initials “WSC” added under the adidas logo on the heel.
Like many of the pairs listed in the Sotheby’s auction, the AE 2 PE was signed by Curry on the toe of both shoes, but unlike so many of the other shoes, this pair is still brand new. It’s not entirely clear why Curry never broke out the PE pair in-game, but he did show plenty of respect to Ant and adidas with his sneaker choices over the season.
The Steph Curry adidas AE 2 PE is currently up for auction through Sotheby’s, with the price sitting at $1,900 as of publishing time. The estimated sale price is expected in the $3,000 - $5,000 range, but who knows, act now and you could get a steal. For all the latest Steph Curry sneaker news, download the Sole Retriever App.
