The adidas AE 2 Lucid Blue Looks Like it was Dipped in Blue Paint

The Blue Man Group just got a new sneaker for their set thanks to adidas and Anthony Edwards. As Ant Man continues his on-court dominance, putting the Minnesota Timberwolves squarely into the Western Conference playoff picture, The Three Stripes is showing out for its marquee signature star with a new monochrome blue colorway of the adidas AE 2.

The adidas AE 2 Lucid Blue first hit our radar in 2025, but new leaked photos are finally giving us a look at the upcoming colorway. Taking a monochrome approach, the AE 2 Lucid Blue looks like it slipped into a bucket of blue paint, covering the entire upper, midsole, and inner bootie in the same shade of Lucid Blue. The only contrast comes from some lighter blueish teal hits on the Three Stripes heel logo and the AE tongue branding. If the color scheme looks familiar, you might remember the original AE 1’s Velocity Blue colorway.

After setting the sneaker world on fire with the adidas AE 1, Ant has seen a bit of a footwear fall off with the AE 2, but to be fair, the kind of hype built by the AE 1 is always hard to keep up. The AE 2 has been dropping in a run of colors inspired by Edwards’ personal life, the Timberwolves, and the adidas archive, but this all-blue pair is the most eye-catching colorway yet. The model will also have a much shorter lifespan, with the AE 3 expected to debut over the summer.

The adidas AE 2 Lucid Blue will be released April 1, 2026 through adidas and select retailers in-store and online.
