World Series Hangover: Paul Rodriguez Previews Dodgers Colorway of Nike SB P Rod 1

Everyone’s a streamer now. Athletes, musicians, and more, it seems like everyone with a following these days is firing up the ring light and going live and direct with their fans. Pro skater Paul Rodriguez is getting in on the trend, and in his latest Twitch stream, P Rod pulled out two new colorways of his Nike SB P Rod 1 Retro, a brown suede staple and a Dodgers colorway paying tribute to his die-hard LA sports fandom.

The Nike SB Paul Rodriguez Zoom Air Low Dodgers arrived on Paul’s stream just in time for Shohei, Mookie, and the Hollywood Hitters to take home their second straight World Series trophy. Starting with dark grey suede on the toe and lace panel, the colorway adds light grey suede on the toebox and side panels, with a fuzzy Dodgers blue Swoosh and more blue on the sockliner and tongue logo. The midsole is clean white with more dark grey on the outsole.

Rodriguez was the very first Nike SB skater with his own pro shoe, and the P Rod 1 represents a shift in the skate industry towards major sportswear brands, cracking the door open for signature skate shoes from adidas, New Balance, and more. Currently, Nike SB only has two signature athletes actively working on new pro models: Ishod Wair and Nyjah Huston. However, P Rod’s original signature model is expected to hit shelves in a handful of different colors next year, so maybe we’ll get our hands on more retro Nike SB models in the near future.
