Puma’s running lineup features various models that cater to different levels of runners. The German sportswear brand has unveiled its latest innovation for runners of every level — the Velocity NITRO 4.
Billed as the brand’s most versatile running shoe yet, the Velocity NITRO 4 builds on the momentum of its predecessor with significant upgrades designed to help runners unlock what Puma calls the true feeling of running. A full-length NITROFOAM midsole sits at the heart of the upgrade, offering softer cushioning and maximum energy return, while keeping the shoe incredibly light on foot — 14 grams lighter than the Velocity NITRO 3.
“The Velocity NITRO 4 is what I call your perfect training partner,” says Conor Cashin, Senior Product Line Manager at Puma. “We packed it with a full NITROFOAM midsole to make it the most responsive trainer in its class. It’s dynamic, fun, and designed to make your miles feel better than ever, whether you’re pushing the pace or cruising through recovery.”
Beyond the midsole, Puma reengineered the upper for better breathability and an adaptive fit that hugs your foot without weighing you down. Underfoot, the trusted PumaGRIP outsole returns, continuing to deliver reliable traction on multiple surfaces so that runners can step out with confidence no matter the terrain.
The fourth iteration comes with the same accessible, runner-friendly price point of $140, while offering notable performance upgrades that make it a compelling option for runners looking to conquer everything from their first 5K to high-mileage training weeks. With a stack height of 26mm in the forefoot and 36mm in the heel (for a 10mm drop), the shoe strikes a balance between comfort and pop off the ground — and is built to last up to 500 miles.
The Puma Velocity NITRO 4 will release July 17, 2025, through Puma, Puma NYC and Las Vegas flagship stores, and select retailers worldwide. Available in men’s and women’s sizing, the retail price is set at $140.
