Without Tinker Hatfield and the Air Jordan 3, we wouldn’t have the Air Jordan line we know today. The story goes that Michael Jordan was not happy with the Air Jordan 2 and was thinking of leaving Nike, but once Tinker took over the design of Jordan’s third model, MJ fell in love with it. Decades later, it has since become a staple in the Jordan retro lineup, with the next iteration of the model coming as a women’s exclusive.
Coating this textile-covered iteration of the AJ 3 is a mixture of fossil and starfish, the latter acting as the accenting hues. These orange hits appear on the mudguard and heel tab, which, unlike most Jordan 3s, come without an elephant print design. Other orange details appear on the embroidered Jumpman on the tongue, the sockliner, and the Jumpman logo on the heel tab.

As for the rest of the sneaker, we see canvas as the base layer, while shaggy suede in a tonal fossil hue appears on the tongue, eyestays, and the collar. Final details on the upper include the tonal lace set and TPU eyelets. Down below sits a cream and white Jordan 3 midsole and a semi-translucent clear rubber outsole.
The Air Jordan 3 Retro TEX Fossil Starfish will release Fall 2025 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in women’s sizing, the retail price is set at $200.
