New Balance has found major success with the 1906R model as mesh runners remain a staple in the rotation of many sneakerheads. Not only have we received countless inline colorways of the 1906R, but we have been introduced to new variants like the 1906A and 1906L, the latter instantly selling out in basically all of its colorways. Now, a year after the release of the OG Metallic Silver, NB is restocking the colorway.
The 1906L Loafer Metallic Silver maintains the foundational design cues of the 1906R but introduces a more refined, lifestyle-oriented aesthetic. It features a mix of premium materials, including mesh, leather, and TPU, rendered in a striking metallic silver and grey palette that echoes the classic color schemes of New Balance’s rich archive. This loafer adaptation replaces traditional laces with a metallic silver leather strap, providing a secure, slip-on fit that exudes a modern, sleek look.

The design retains the distinctive toebox overlays and triangular midfoot panels, yet the standard N logo is conspicuously absent, further emphasizing its unique identity separate from its 1906R counterpart. Underneath, the 1906L employs a cream-colored foam midsole derived from the 860v2, ensuring that comfort isn’t sacrificed for style. This midsole is paired with a durable rubber outsole in black and grey.
The New Balance 1906L Loafer Metallic Silver was originally released September 19, 2024. The pair will restock on New Balance on July 7, 2025. Available in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $160.
