After teasing the ABZORB 2000 silhouette for months via a stealthy Instagram campaign, a pop-up at Slam Jam in Milan, and most notably in Brazil at the ABZORB House activation, New Balance has finally released the futuristic silhouette. The debut Baby Blue rendition sold out instantly yesterday when it hit shelves, something designer Charlotte Lee and the rest of the team are likely very happy about. If you missed the pair or want to add more colors to your collection, images of a new Black Grey rendition have appeared.
Toned down compared to the OG color and the upcoming Dragon Berry, the pair falls more in line with the recently unveiled White Grey color scheme. Like the latter variant, this Black Grey colorway coats the no-sew screenprinted upper in a neutral mixture. The mesh base comes in a deep black hue to match the tongue, sockliner, and laces, while the screenprinted panels on the mudguard, midfoot, eyestays, and heel come in a grey and black gradient.

Branding for NB is present on the midfoot with a large N logo in a tonal grey look, while NB and 2000 logos find a home along the tongue. Below sits the star of the show, the segmented ABZORB SBS and ABZORB foam midsole. Here, the ABZORB foam is rendered in a dark grey, while the ABZORB SBS pods running the full length of the midsole come in a shiny blue hue that leans perfectly into the Y2K era the sneaker draws inspiration from.
The New Balance ABZORB 2000 Black Grey will release in Fall 2025 through New Balance and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is $170.
