New Balance has officially unveiled its next silhouette — the New Balance ABZORB 2000. Sole Retriever was fortunate enough to sit down with the lead designer behind the model, Charlotte Lee, and learn all the intricacies and inspiration behind the design of the Y2K-inspired model. Quickly following the OG Blue variant will be a clean White Grey Blue color combo.
The one-piece mesh upper with screen-printed overlays is done up primarily in white and grey, with the mesh base coming in a clean, stark white hue. Gradient dotted patterns of grey and white appear on the overlays, wrapping around the mudguard, eyelets, collar, and heel, while the lateral midfoot N comes in a solid dark grey finish. More branding for New Balance is found on the tongue with an NB logo stamped atop the mesh, 2000 text found on the metallic silver tongue overlay, and a final NB logo stamped onto the metallic silver heel tab.

Underfoot is truly the star of the show. Here, we see the ABZORB and ABZORB SBS-laden midsole comes in a combo of white and blue, with the latter of the two shades utilized on the segmented SBS pods and the former on the ABZORB foam resting above. Finishing the design are hits of grey foam and black rubber.
The New Balance ABZORB 2000 White Grey Blue will release sometime in 2025 through New Balance and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $170.
