2025 is an exciting year for fans of Jordan Brand, particularly those who have an affinity for the Air Jordan 4. Beloved for its historical significance and classic design, this model is expected to drop in a striking new colorway that continues the classic Rare Air series: Black Deep Royal Blue. Alongside this pair, Jordan Brand has plans for multiple Rare Air releases, including an Air Jordan 1 High and an Air Jordan 3.
The Air Jordan 4 Retro Rare Air Black Deep Royal Blue features a black-based premium nubuck upper with a dark smoke grey mudguard. Fire Red hits can be seen via the bottom plastic eyelet, outsole toe and heel, and Nike Air branding on the insoles. Deep Royal Blue comes into play via the lining, branding on the tongue tag, and a minor hit on the midsole.
Additional details include removable leather tongue tags that unveil "Jordan Rare Air" branding underneath, Nike Air branding on the back heels, and laser-printed shoelaces. A classic grey midsole with an aged look wrapping around the visible Air-cushioned heel finish off the design. Adding to the vintage appeal of the colorway, Jordan Brand brought back the MJ face box, seen on retro releases from the 2000s.
The Air Jordan 4 Retro Rare Air Black Deep Royal Blue was originally set to release on February 15, 2025. They were pushed back to April 12 and then to Fall 2025, now dropping on August 2. Look out for them through Nike, SNKRS, and select Jordan Brand retailers online and in-store. The retail price is $215 for men's sizes, with gradeschool, preschool, and toddler sizes available at $160, $100, and $85, respectively.
