Stefon Diggs has had a complicated off-field life lately. After a video surfaced over the off-season of Diggs on a boat passing out mysterious pink party favors to women who weren’t his superstar rapper girlfriend, Cardi B, Diggs kicked off the season with an announcement that he and Cardi were expecting a child. On the field, the Patriots' wideout finished his first 100-yard receiving game of the season in last Sunday’s rout of the Panthers. For Diggs, the only thing that truly matters is what happens between the lines, when it’s time to play.
This week, Diggs is joining forces with his shoe sponsor, Asics, for a new pair of Gel-DS Trainer 14, throwing it back to childhood games of open field two-touch and tackle. Dubbed the “These are your Play Shoes,” the sneaker is a direct call back to Diggs’ childhood, and memories of his mom chastising him for dirtying up his sneakers as a kid, even if that’s exactly why she bought them.

Diggs and Asics debuted the shoe in a short commercial posted to Instagram, showing a young kid playing pick-up football with his friends and then leaving in a car with his mom, who immediately calls out his dirty play shoes. The Diggs Gel-DS Trainer 14 is a white and light blue mesh runner with navy blue accents, a red sock liner, and a small hit of yellow on the midsole. As the kid from the commercial drops the shoes at the door at his mom’s demand, Diggs, dressed in a mail carrier outfit, stops by the stoop to drop off a package. It’s not exactly clear, but it looks like the handwritten “These are your Play Shoes” logo from the commercial is also featured on the tongue of the shoes.
The Stefon Diggs x Asics Gel-DS Trainer 14 will be released October 11, 2025 through Asics and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men's sizing, the retail price is set at $160.
