Last year, Asics announced it had signed NFL star wide receiver Stefon Diggs to an endorsement deal, marking Asics' first NFL athlete. Since this announcement, we've seen Diggs take the gridiron in custom Asics-themed cleats and wear models like the GT-2160 off the field. However, Diggs has just announced his first collaborative sneaker with Asics, getting his version of the recently introduced Asics Gel-Nimbus 10.1
Stefon Diggs’ take on the Asics Gel-Nimbus 10.1 features a dynamic mix of materials and design elements. The upper showcases a combination of mesh and leather overlays, with metallic silver gracing the leather portions on the toe, vamp, and eyestays. The midfoot base layer boasts a warped grid pattern, while standard white mesh accents are seen across various panels. Adding a personal touch, custom letter charms spelling Friends with a heart logo are included on the heel bracelet. The tongue features standard Gel-Nimbus 10.1 branding on the left shoe, while the right shoe is adorned with the world family, a heart logo, and three yellow figures. The iridescent heel counter and white Gel-cushioned midsole complete the design, paired with a black and orange outsole.
Originally thought to be exclusive to friends and family, Stefon Diggs' Asics Gel-Nimbus 10.1 will drop via a raffle through Kith Manhattan. The pair is still limited to 250 units and 100% of the proceeds will go to It's From The Sole, a non-profit organization that provides sneakers to the less fortunate in New York City and around the world.
