Bulgarian designer Kiko Kostadinov might not get the same credit as Ronnie Fieg or Wales Bonner, but when it comes to continued partnerships with major sportswear brands reshaping the sneaker industry, Kostadinov’s impact is far greater than his fame. Working with Asics to expand the Sportstyle label under his Novalis label, Kiko’s bold designs have been a major catalyst for Asics’ revival.
Taking his out-of-the-box approach to the next level, Kostadinov’s latest Asics model is a 3D-printed version of the Novalis Styrax slip-on. Made using sabo shape construction, the durable 3D printed shoe features a semi-permeable honeycomb weave throughout, with an Asics logo overlaid across the upper and a Novalis logo on the tongue.

Kostadinov introduced the Styrax mule late last year with a pack of bright, logo-dominated colorways, following that up with an argyle-print pack this year. This version of the Styrax takes a more subtle approach to the color palette with a monochrome black colorway, but trades it in for the futuristic bounce of 3D printing. If the printing technique looks familiar, you’re probably thinking of Asics’ Acitbreeze 3D Sandal, which went mega-viral when it first dropped in 2022. The brand hasn’t fully explored this space just yet, only offering the model in two colorways and then creating the second iteration that combines classic foam construction with a 3D-printed footbed.
The Kiko Kostadinov x Asics Stryax Breeze Black was released October 3, 2025 through Kostadinov’s online store. A drop via Asics will take place on October 4. Available in unisex sizing, the price is set at £175 (approx. $235). For all the latest Asics release news and info, download the Sole Retriever mobile app.
