Kiko Kostadinov x Asics UB12-S Gel-SD-Light Pack

Kiko Kostadinov, the Bulgarian designer working out of London, has been an integral part of the Asics Sportstyle explosion into fashion prominence over the past few years, and his hot streak with the Japanese brand is nowhere close to over. He’s been hard at work on the brand’s inline releases through his position within the company, but he’s also got plenty of collaborative projects lined up. Following up on his Asics Novalis Gel-Stryax and UB11-S Gel-DS Trainer 14 collections, Kiko is helping revive the Gel-SD-Lyte model.

The pack of retro runners UB12-S Gel-SD-Lytes brings a perfect mix of Fall-ready earth tones to an orange and grey pair, a coffee brown with neon green accents, and a dark green and black pair. The orange pair takes the mesh upper and rubber side panel overlays and covers them all in the same rich orange color, breaking up the pumpkin shade with hits of grey on the stripes logo, runners toe, and midsole accents, and metallic silver on the toebox and lace panel supports.

The brown and green colorway takes a similar approach, replacing the orange with brown and the grey with green, but keeping the silver structure on the toe and lace protection panels. The black and green shoe follows the same theme, adding black mesh and green overlays with the same silver details. On all three shoes, the mesh is given a custom vertical stripe pattern similar to rain camo that adds a perfect layer of visual interruption on the upper.

Earlier this year, Asics previewed a new collab with CDG that featured the Gel-SD-Lyte, but that pack won’t drop until next year, so these Kiko colorways appear to be the first re-release of the Y2K retro running shoe.

The Kiko Kostadinov x Asics UB12-S Gel-SD-Lyte pack is available now at Premier in Grand Rapids in-store and online, and will be released through Asics and select retailers in-store and online October 10, 2025.
