When Ronnie Fieg and Kith do a collab, it’s hardly ever a one-off. To celebrate the grand opening of the new Kith Chicago retail location, Fieg and team are dropping 8 pairs of exclusive Asics colorways more than two years in the making.
Kith’s Chicago grand opening Asics collection features four pairs of Gel-Lyte III colorways, a Gel-Lyte 3.1, a Gel-Kayano 12.1, a Gel Kayano 14, and a brand new silhouette dubbed the Mai.1. We saw a preview of the Kayano 14 inspired by the Chicago flag and the Canada Gel-Lyte III earlier this month, and the rest of the collection follows the city-specific theme. More specifically, Fieg draws inspiration from the World’s Fairs, celebrating the 19th and 20th-century expos hosted in New York and Chicago.

Like exhibitions at the fairs, each of the Kith x Asics models is based on a specific country or city. The Kayano 14 reps Chicago, the Kayano 12.1 is all about the stars and stripes, the Gel-Lyte IIIs and 3.1 feature custom embroidery inspired by architecture in Canada, South Korea, Brazil, Italy, and France, and the first-ever Mai 1 finishes the pack with Japanese influence.
After supporting itself with a vibrant local retail scene pillared by stores like St. Alfred's, LDRS, Uprise, and more, the arrival of global retailers Supreme and Kith is bringing new attention to the Windy City’s sneaker and streetwear scene.
The Kith x Asics World’s Fair Collection will be released October 4, 2025 at the grand opening of Kith Chicago. A global launch will take place on October 6, with a raffle available to enter on October 4-5. Available in men’s sizing, the retail prices are still TBD.
