With a range of signature shoes under the Nike KD line, Durant has already established himself as a force in the sneaker world. Durant also joins an elite few who have secured lifetime deals with The Swoosh, including Michael Jordan, LeBron James, and soccer superstar Cristiano Ronaldo. Outside of Nike, the only other major figure in sports to secure a lifetime deal with a sportswear brand is Steph Curry who recently inked a $1 billion deal with Under Armour.
Exact terms surrounding how much Durant will earn from this lifetime deal have been kept under wraps, but the figure is likely close to LeBron James’ $1 billion deal. What we do know is that the deal covers more than just footwear and apparel, as the two will continue to focus on grassroots basketball, such as philanthropic efforts in local communities.
