Detailed Look at the Air Jordan 1 Low 85 Board of Greatness PE

Being a Jordan Brand athlete has plenty of perks outside of being backed by one of the largest sportswear brands in the world. You have virtually unlimited access to Jordan sneakers and are often gifted some of the most exclusive products the brand produces. Cam Jordan, the defensive end for the New Orleans Saints, has just received a care package for his birthday that includes the upcoming fragment design x Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 Low, and the unseen Air Jordan 1 Low 85 Board of Greatness PE.

For those unfamiliar, the Board of Governors (this year being dubbed Board of Greatness) isn’t exactly what you’d think based on the name. No, it’s not specifically board members who run the business aspect of Jordan Brand, but it includes athletes, entertainers, friends and family, and select employees of the brand. In 2018, Jordan Brand produced 88 pairs of the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG Board of Governors, which today is one of the most coveted Air Jordan sneakers ever produced. More colorways have been made, though most of the ones pictured above have almost no information surrounding them.
For the Board of Greatness PE, Jordan Brand has chosen the Air Jordan 1 Retro 85, a version of the low-top AJ 1 that more closely resembles the original shape and materials from the model’s 1985 run. Fitting as this year marks the 40th anniversary of the AJ 1, and therefore, Jordan Brand as a whole.

The silhouette is done in a clean white color palette accented by soft greys on the midfoot Swoosh, heel tab, and sockliner. Special Board of Greatness logos are added to a custom hangtag and to the sneaker itself. Each pair is individually numbered on the heel out of 180.
Outside of the sneaker itself, Jordan Brand's Board of Greatness gathering in Greece brought together more than 20 athletes representing multiple sports and entertainers. They all engaged in collaborative sessions and open dialogue, exchanged ideas, and explored their role in Jordan Brand's strategy going forward.
Unfortunately for the vast majority of us, the Air Jordan 1 Low 85 Board of Greatness PE will remain limited to select Jordan Brand associates.
