With all the mayhem going on in the world, the apocalypse portrayed in the video game-turned-HBO series “The Last of Us” seems more familiar than ever. Okay, so there aren’t mushroom-headed zombies wandering our cities, but still. Apparently, Timberland shares the sentiment, and to get your real-life feet prepared for the rigors of life after civilization, the brand known for butters is dropping a special edition “The Last of Us” 6 Inch Boot.
The Last of Us x Timberland 6 Inch Boot is a classic tan boot at first glance, but looking a little closer, the waterproof shoe is made from premium leather, featuring seam-sealed construction, Anti-Fatigue footbeds, and PrimaLoft insulation for comfort at the job site or on the run from zombies. Adding easter eggs from the show throughout, the boot features a Firefly logo on the heel instead of the classic tree, woodworking-style decoration on the ankle collar, a custom insole and hangtag, and a collectible Firefly coin.
Video games and sneakers have had a friendly relationship for years now, with shoes from real life featured in games and shoes featured first in games popping up later in real life. You probably won’t see characters on the next season of “The Last of Us” rocking their own collab boots thanks to the apocalypse and all, but you never know.
