Last November, Nike unveiled its latest innovation in the Air Max series, which marked a first for the sportswear giant — its first fully 3D-printed sneaker, the Air Max 1000. Around 1,000 lucky individuals (this author included) were able to secure the red colorway of the sneaker, and pairs have finally arrived after a seven-month wait. And while we’re still awaiting release info for the Oatmeal colorway, those in Paris, France, will have an opportunity to get another rendition of the sneaker.
Posted by French-based sneaker page Sneakerologue, the Air Max 1000 Paris Exclusive was spotted on the feet of fashion influencer Drew Joiner at Nike’s Breaking4 event. Zellerfeld manufactures the sneaker in Germany, which comes fully 3D-printed, with this particular pair coated entirely in a light blue hue. Design inspiration came from the Air Max 1, though it’s undergone a makeover that reimagines what the model would have looked like if designed in the distant future.

Nike logos are found on the midfoot via a debossed Swoosh and on the heel with a 3D AIR logo protruding outwards. The top half of the sneaker features a smoother finish, while the tongue area contains a lighter TPU material with a bit more give than the rest of the model. The textured bottom half finishes the design, including an Air unit in the heel and an Air Max 1-inspired outsole.
The Nike Air Max 1000 Paris Exclusive is set to release at the NikeLab storefront in Paris, France, on June 27 and 28. Exactly how the release will go down is a mystery, though it’s likely that a first-come, first-served method will be employed.
