While all eyes are on the Nike Air Max 95 this year, NSW still releases plenty of other Air Max silhouettes. Classics like the Air Max 1, Air Max 90, and Air Max Plus have been joined by the Air Max TL 2.5, Air Max DN8, and more. Speaking of the Air Max 1, the Tinker Hatfield-designed model has been quiet after celebrating its birthday, getting the Big Bubble treatment in 2023.
With a slew of .SWOOSH collabs, the Nike Air Max 1 has had a solid first half of 2025. As we enter the latter, a classic colorway gets flipped on its heels as the Reverse Chili is set for a fall debut. Mimicking the Chili AM 1, this pair changes the color placement, resulting in a new look.
The Nike Air Max 1 Reverse Chili comes Bred-like vast grey, black, and light crimson. Vast Grey mesh covers the underlays in their traditional places, while black suede overlays darken the vibe. Helping to brighten things up are the hits of light crimson found on the leather Swoosh and mudguard, top plastic eyelets, Nike Air branding on the tongue tag and back heel tab, and the insoles.
The classic Air Max 1-tooled foam midsole comes in white, with a visible Max Air unit in the heel, rendered light crimson. The tri-colored solid rubber outsole in vast grey, black, and light crimson finishes this pair.
The Nike Air Max 1 Reverse Chili is set to release in Fall 2025 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. In men’s sizing, the retail price is $140.
