Last November, Nike introduced the world to its latest innovation in the Air Max family with the Air Max 1000. It marked a first for Nike in many ways, though notably, it is the first-ever fully 3D printed silhouette to come from Beaverton and is the first time the brand has worked with 3D printing gurus Zellerfeld. Around 1,000 individuals (including this writer) secured a pair at ComplexCon, and orders are beginning to ship out to winners in early June. However, Sole Retriever can confirm that the Air Max 1000 will get a retail release in the Oatmeal colorway during the Summer 2025 season.
The silhouette is a forward-thinking reimagination of the original Air Max 1 silhouette, morphing it into a 3D-printed futuristic design. Zellerfeld’s manufacturing technique and the specific filament used are much different than other 3D-printed models on the market. For example, those from adidas or Puma, as the soft, flexible properties of the Air Max 1000 (and other Zellerfeld-made models) make them some of the most comfortable. Textured panels run along the wavy mudguard, while a mini Swoosh logo is debossed onto the midfoot of the upper.

Inside, the textured lining and footbed help secure your foot in place, though based on comments from those who have pairs in hand (and this writer's experience), your socks will grip the material a little too much, causing some pressure and tightness. Cushioning comes from the 3D printed sole unit, though Nike does insert an Air Max 1 Air unit into the heel of the shoe. However, its not felt much when worn underfoot.
The Nike Air Max 1000 Oatmeal will release in Summer 2025 through Nike online and possibly Zellerfeld. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is $210. Download the Sole Retriever mobile app to stay updated on the latest releases, raffles, news, and more in the sneaker and streetwear world.
