If you consider yourself a sneakerhead, you’ve definitely heard the term “restock” before. But what exactly is a sneaker restock and how can you prepare for them?

Believe it not, sneaker retailers often release pairs of sneakers after their initial launch date. Whether it's due to a late shipment, returned pairs, technical difficulties, or other reasons, sneaker restocks are constantly occurring across the web. Here are the top tips and tricks to use to increase your chances of securing a W on the next restock of Yeezys, Jordans, Nikes, and more.

Setup and use Apple Pay, Google Pay, Shop Pay, and Autofill

Speed is the name of the game here, folks. If you want to stand a chance on any sneaker restock, you have to move quickly. If you’re able to add the restocked shoe to your shopping cart, the next step is checkout. Rather than spending precious seconds typing in your payment information, do yourself a favor and setup Apple Pay, Google Pay, Shop Pay and if on desktop - checkout an autofill extension like Autofill. Doing so will allow you to navigate through checkout much faster than the average user and will increase your chances of potential success.

Keep up to date with the current sneaker release schedule

The more you know, the better. If you want to have success on sneaker restocks, you’ll need to put in some leg work and keep yourself informed. Follow the latest sneaker releases, know what sneakers are coming out and when, which stores are carrying them, etc. Familiarize yourself with popular retailers’ sites and learn the typical online checkout flow. By simply keeping yourself informed and knowing the basics, you will put yourself ahead of the curve and better equip yourself for success on the next sneaker restock.

Prepare in advance by creating accounts

Many retailers’ websites require accounts to checkout. The last thing you want to be doing during a sneaker restock is wasting time creating an account. Do the work ahead of time. Head over to retailers’ sites that require accounts - such as Kith, Concepts, and Undefeated - and create your accounts now (make sure to verify them, too!) Ok, so having these accounts all setup is great, but what good will it do you if you forget your password? Just to be safe, we recommend using a password manager such as 1Password to store your logins. Again, remember that time is of the essence. You shouldn't be doing any scrambling during a sneaker restock - unless of course you were making eggs when you got the alert!

Have a good internet / WiFi connection

One way to almost guarantee yourself to never have success on a sneaker restock is by having poor internet connection or WiFi. The faster your connection, the better your odds. If you have lackluster reception or a bad connection, you’re not doing yourself any favors. If you know or think you know about a restock ahead of time, try your best to position yourself in a place where you will have good internet connection or WiFi. And if you find yourself at home most of the time, it’s probably worth investing in some good WiFi.
