What was a definitive year for cryptocurrency, NFTs, and the web3 space in general, 2022 saw the market balloon and eventually pop due to multiple controversies with some of the biggest companies in the space a la FTX. Even with the negative perception around the space, plenty of influencers, celebrities, and large brands have continued to push into the metaverse - and NBA legend Scottie Pippen is another addition to this long list.
Teaming up with Orange Comet, Scottie Pippen is helping the web3 brand launch their upcoming Cørrupted Wear Collection with 1000 unique NFTs of Scottie Pippen sneakers infused with the design language from Orange Comet - bringing cyberpunk vibes to each of the kicks under four different classifications, Modern Day, Futurist, Transcendent, and Planetary. On top of the 3D animations you’ll own, each NFT sneaker will be built as a “Metaverse-Ready digital asset,” meaning they can be “worn” outside of Orange Comet’s digital ecosystem.
Nodding to Scottie Pippen’s jersey number, 33 lucky individuals who purchase an NFT will be randomly selected to receive a physical pair of sneakers autographed by Scottie Pippen himself - also serving as a possible prototype for a future release on the unspecified model. Even more, perks are added for buyers as each NFT will also contain an “OC Designer Mystery Box” which will grant the holder a special prize in the future and multiple winners will get a selection of prizes including a tour of Scottie’s hometown with dinner included, a golf outing with Scottie, and 33 winners randomly selected to receive a QR for $100 off any purchase at “a notable sneaker lifestyle brand.”
The Scottie Pippen x Orange Comet Sneaker Collection will be available on December 20th, 2022 via the “SP33 Allow List” and you must register before December 20th at 2:19 AM EST to have a chance at minting 1 of the 1000 NFTs.
