If you’ve been keeping up with WWE storylines in the last few months, you know how important Roman Reigns’ sneakers have become. The Tribal Chief is currently embroiled in a feud with Seth Rollins and Paul Heyman’s new faction, and their enforcer, Bronson Reed, has disrespected Reigns in the ring (and on the announce table) by stealing the Jordans off his feet.

First, it was his Jordan Spizike Low and then a pair of Jordan 1 Mids, both of which Reed wore around his neck as a “Shoelafala.” However, Reigns’ latest pair of Jordans survived last night’s episode of Monday Night Raw, and rightfully so, as it was a special player-exclusive version of the Jordan Stadium 90.

Although not a true “retro” Jordan, the Stadium 90 takes influences from ‘90s Jordan design language, repackaging it for a lifestyle comfort-focused silhouette. Elements from the Air Jordan 5 and Air Jordan 1 are directly referenced on the upper of the model, but inside sits one of the brand’s best cushioning technologies to date, Formula23 Foam.

As for Roman’s exclusive “Air Reigns” colorway of the Jordan Stadium 90, a Bloodline-friendly black and red color palette is applied to the upper. Red accents appear on the Swoosh and the updated Roman Reigns logo applied to the tongue, while the rest of the sneaker is dipped in black. “Air Reigns” is stamped into the grey portion of the white and grey Formula23-cushioned midsole.

Professional wrestling may not have received a lot of recognition from sportswear brands in years past but it can’t be ignored today. Netflix just signed a massive $5 billion deal with WWE, and the wrestling promotion just announced a new partnership with ESPN that will see PLEs land on the sports network’s upcoming DTC streaming platform.

That’s all to say, there’s a ton of money and eyeballs surrounding the world of professional wrestling, something Nike and Jordan Brand have recognized. Jordan even hooked up Roman Reigns in the past with an early pair of the Nigel Sylvester Air Jordan 4 Brick by Brick and crafted custom apparel and boots for his WrestleMania 40 match against Cody Rhodes.

Unfortunately for us, Roman Reigns’ Jordan Stadium 90 PE will be exclusive to the OTC, though the “Tribal Thief” Bronson Reed may have something to say about that in the coming weeks. The two will be facing off at Clash in Paris at the end of the month, so hopefully Reigns can retain his sneakers that night.
