Y2K's design language is a breath of fresh air in the current landscape of sneakers, which has relied heavily either on going far back into the vault or looking too far ahead in the future. For New Balance, they’ve revisited the early 2000s through the aptly named New Balance ABZORB 2000. After an initial sellout with the Baby Blue colorway and previews of multiple pairs, such as the Black Grey, White Grey, and Dragon Berry, the sneaker has emerged in another neutral makeup.
The sneaker opts for a light sky blue hue on the mesh base without straying too far from the black-and-white-based pairs. The no-sew screen-printed overlay is rendered in varying grey hues, transitioning between dark and light tones near the toe and swapping between the shades on the paneling along the midfoot and heel. N logos on the midfoot also come in a greyscale finish, matching the NB and 2000 logos on the tongue.
