Jordan Brand finally unveiled Michael Jordan’s 40th signature model. To mark the launch of this milestone sneaker, the label has crafted a clean white/black colorway dubbed The Classic, which will be quickly followed by two more colorful options: Blue Suede and Dusty Rose.
While we got an official look at The Classic pair, Sole Retriever was able to attend a press preview for the Jordan 40 in NYC, where we got our hands on the two aforementioned colorways. Here, you can see the Blue Suede colorway, which describes the sneaker well. The titular shade and material cover the toebox and midfoot panel, while black nubuck is found on the eyestays, collar, and heel. More black hues are found on the tongue, which features elements inspired by the Air Jordan 5 and Air Jordan 13.
Other details inspired by previous Air Jordans include the heel tab, which takes after the Jordan 3, the outsole’s Jumpman placement, inspired by the Jordan 12, and stitched bone lines, a nod to the Jordan 14. Inside, the model features a 360-degree webbing containment for a secure on-foot experience, while the sole unit comes with full-length ZoomX and Zoom Strobel cushioning. The rubber outsole finishes the sneaker with a 40-degree herringbone traction pattern.
The Air Jordan 40 Blue Suede will release on August 20, 2025, through Nike and select Jordan Brand retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is $205.
