While Teddy Santis’ focus on the Made in USA seasonal collection for New Balance has shifted from the 993 toward the 992, the reintroduction of the latter model doesn’t mean that the brand has given up on the 993 altogether. All that said, things have been quiet on the 993 front for some time, with the last preview of an upcoming colorway coming via Ronnie Fieg when he teased two pairs as part of an upcoming Madison Square Garden (or Knicks) themed collection. On the GR side of things, the 993 has just emerged in a familiar-looking Pink Taffy color scheme.
If you’ve kept New Balance releases on your radar for some time, you may be thinking this pair has already been released. We can’t blame you, as this new 993 looks nearly identical to the 991v2 Made in UK Black Pink that was released last year exclusively in Japan as part of the City Exclusive Collection, which featured pairs for the US, Japan, Europe, Asia-Pacific, and China. The 993 steals this two-tone, primarily pink color palette as the mudguard, midfoot panels, and heel overlays are rendered in a premium pink taffy suede.

Solid black details appear on the mesh panels peeking through the toe, portions of the midfoot, and collar. A combination of suede and mesh covers the tongue. Everything is accented by white and pink branding emblems. As with many 99X models, nubuck overlays on the toe and collar provide reinforcement and offer contrast, done here in the traditional silver-grey look. Final details include the silver and white N logo, 993 text on the lateral heel, Made in USA nods on the heel, and a black and grey foam midsole with ABZORB cushioning.
The New Balance 993 Made in USA Pink Taffy will release sometime in 2025 through New Balance and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $200.
