We live in an era of futuristic personal tracking technology. Not only do our phones and computers keep track of everything we search for, buy, and scroll past, but wearable tech like smart watches adds a complete profile of personal tendencies like sleep, heart rate, walking and running pace, and much more. With the fall marathon season finally here, New Balance is getting in on the wearable tech game thanks to a cross-product collaboration with watchmaker TAG Heuer on a FuelCell SC Elite v5 running shoe and a matching TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E5 smartwatch.
The TAG Heuer x New Balance collection was made to celebrate the new Connected Calibre E5 smartwatch. TAG’s most advanced tech timepiece yet, the redesigned model features “deeper insight into physical performance and recovery,” thanks to heart rate monitoring, real-time activity tracking, GPS tools, and more.
TAG Heuer x New Balance FuelCell SC Elite v5
Matching the purple New Balance edition of the watch, the FuelCell SC Elite v5 takes on a full purple upper across the lightweight mesh and added support panels. The midsole starts with teal at the toe but gradually progresses to purple in the mid-foot and heel. More teal is found on the tongue and ankle collar, and TAG Heuer logos are found on the lateral heel, the tongue, and the insoles. As for tech specs, the Elite v5 comes with a soft, ultra-responsive PEBA midsole containing FuelCell cushioning, an 8mm heel drop, and a fine-tuned carbon fiber plate for propulsion.
The TAG Heuer x New Balance FuelCell SC Elite v5 was released October 8, 2025 for $280. The watch will retail for 1,950 Swiss Franc (approx $2,443 USD). For more New Balance release news, make sure to download the Sole Retriever mobile app.
