Rick Owens Converts the Converse DRKSHDW TURBOWPN Into a Low-Top Silhouette
Published
Sportswear has long influenced high fashion, but it's always special when the two worlds can collide. Rick Owens, the avant-garde fashion label known for its dark and extreme aesthetic, has introduced a much more affordable lineup of footwear offerings through its collaborative efforts with Converse under the DRKSHDW program. After years of working on a Rick Owens-ified version of the Weapon silhouette, the TURBOWPN, the duo is now dropping the top on the sneaker, converting it into a low-top.
Seen in two neutral colorways, one in Black and another in Oyster, the pairs retain the puffy and bulbous leather upper that defined the original TURBOWPN. Even with the conversion to a low-top, the tongue is extended to create a high-fashion look, containing Converse and TURBOWPN branding in a tonal black and oyster finish. Midfoot branding on the lateral side removes the iconic Converse chevron in favor of a Rick Owens star logo, though the medial side retains the standard Converse branding.

Thick tonal laces, the Y-shaped overlay, and thick padding along the collar and tongue finish the upper. Underfoot, the midsole is borrowed directly from the previous TURBOWPN, taking on a beefier build than the OG. One final hit of Rick Owens branding sits on the outsole.
The Rick Owens x Converse DRKSHDW TURBOWPN Ox Pack will release on April 29, 2025, through Converse, Rick Owens, and select retailers online and in-store.
