It’s not uncommon for Nike and its collaborators to take inspiration from previously successful color schemes and apply them to another sneaker. Just look at the countless examples of the Air Max 95 Neon (which was re-released earlier this year) being translated onto lifestyle and performance models. This year alone, Sergio Lozano’s design made its way to the Nike Book 1 and Zoom Superfly 10 Elite. Now, you can expect to see the color palette on the Air Max 90 next year.
The Neon theme has made plenty of appearances throughout Air Max history, and we wouldn’t be doing it justice without taking a trip down memory lane. In 2005, Nike tapped British artist Dave White and retailer size? for a pack of Neon-inspired Air Max sneakers, including the Air Max 95, Air Max 90, Air Max 1, and Air Stab. They’ve all gone down as some of the most coveted collaborative Air Max sneakers, but this new Air Max 90 might achieve honorable mention status.
