Nike Preps Five Sneakers for American Independence Day 2025
Published
The Fourth of July is one of the most beloved American holidays, as the day marks the start of America’s independence from Britain in 1776. Outside of the grilling, drinking, and fireworks, footwear brands join in on the celebrations by offering patriotic footwear. However, this has stirred controversy in the past for Nike with pairs like the Betsy Ross Air Max 1. While not an official “Fourth of July” Collection, Nike is clearly nodding to America with this upcoming five-pack of sneakers.

This Independence Day Pack includes the Air Max 95 OG, Air Max 90, Nike Gato, Nike V5 RNR, and the Nike P-6000. Starting with arguably the most exciting, the Air Max 95 is done in a pale ivory color palette featuring suede and tumbled leather alongside mesh paneling on the upper. A slight gradient is applied to the human anatomy-inspired midfoot panel, while red and navy hues are found on the branding along the tongue and collar. The pair is finished with a tonal foam midsole and Max Air units in the forefoot and heel, the latter featuring the famed “big bubble” build that has become a common sight thanks to the sneaker’s 30th Anniversary.
For the Air Max 90, a similar cream and pale ivory color palette covers most of the upper, though the suede midfoot and heel overlay provide a large hit of navy. This is also seen on the Nike Gato, the low-top indoor soccer shoe that returned last year. It opts for a primarily white upper across its leather and mesh construction. We see contrasting hits applied to the Swoosh, done in navy and red, and to the tongue tag.

Finally, we have the runners in the pack: the V5 RNR and P-6000. The mesh-based sneakers are clad in different shades: the P-6000 is done in light navy and cream, and the V5 RNR is primarily coated in navy. Each features contrasting hues that lean into the Independence Day color palette and their respective tooling setup.
The Nike Independence Day Pack will release in Fall 2025 (between July and September) through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is $200 for the Air Max 95, $145 for the Air Max 90, $115 for the Gato, $90 for the V5 RNR, and $125 for the P-6000.
