Metagirl Studio Revives the Saucony Paramount With a Pearl-Inspired Collaboration

In the war against the “pink and shrink” style of boring women’s sneakers, Metagirl Studio has been a shining light of croquettish, balletcore brilliance, using customization and collaboration to instill some feminine energy into our favorite footwear. The latest Metagirl collab links up with Saucony to bring the Paramount model back from the archives, decking out the mesh runner in violet tones and pearly imagery.
Entitled “Daughter of the Moon,” Metagirl Studio’s debut project with Saucony tells the story of the pearl, “born of the earth’s waters and the heaven’s powers, struck by a flash of moonlight.” The color story is told through a pearly white mesh upper bordered by frilly white lace and silver hits on the side logo and lace protection. Metallic purple emanates from the laces, outsole, and the custom 3D-printed clamshell heel counter.

This clamshell design was handcrafted by Metagirl founder Caterina Mongillo, scanned, and then 3D printed onto each pair. The one-of-a-kind heel counter is completed with a pearl protruding from the center. The shoe also features a Metagirl logo on the lateral side of the clamshell heel counter and the tongue of the left shoe, while the right shoe tongue gets a Saucony label. The look is complete with a speckled, sandy brown midsole.
No release date or pricing has been set on the Metagirl Studio x Saucony Paramount but Mongillo noted on Instagram that they would drop sometime next week, so keep your eyes peeled to the Sole Retriever mobile app to stay updated on the latest releases, raffles, news, and more in the sneaker and streetwear world.
