Japanese Streetwear Brand FACETASM is Dropping a Clean Asics Gel-Kayano 14 Colorway

Asics has a tight hold on the US sneaker market thanks to the resurgence of the Y2K style and an obsession with silver mesh runners. The millennium nostalgia started the wave and now Asics has been recemented in the minds of sneakerheads everywhere. No matter how much stateside success Asics has, nothing compares to the love Asics gets in its home country of Japan, and the latest collab is straight from Tokyo.

We got a preview of the new FACETASM x Asics Gel-Kayano 14 from the Japanese streetwear brand on Instagram this week, showing off a bright, multi-colored version of the mesh runner. The FACETASM colorway starts with a clean white mesh base, but adds various panels of shiny metallic material in green, blue, pink, and silver. The large side panel logo adds more color with subtle hints of pink and yellow, while the midsole pops in gradient teal and cream. The FACESTASM logo is featured prominently on the shiny pink heel panel.
FACETASM is a Tokyo brand that takes its name from the different facets of a project. In sneaker circles, the brand is best known for a 2019 Jordan 1 collaboration, but it's also done collab colorways with Vans, Converse, Diadora, and Airwalk.

The FACETASM x Asics Gel-Kayano 14 was seen in a photo shoot replacing a bedside lamp in what looks like a hotel bedroom alongside a picture of a Tokyo apartment building, but that’s all we’ve seen so far, so no release date or pricing details are available quite yet.
