Jordan Release Calendar

Nike’s partnership with Kobe Bryant took flight in 2005 with the release of the Zoom Kobe 1 and has since become a pillar of Nike’s basketball lineage. Since its inception, the collection has seen 12 models over the course of 12 years, the final addition being the post-retirement Kobe A.D. Since 2018, Nike has worked to update the technologies of older models under a program called Protro, merging the worlds of performance footwear and retro sneakers. Protros focus on maintaining Kobe’s legacy by modernizing products for future basketball stars like Jalen Brunson and Caitlin Clark.
After an early career stint with Adidas, Kobe Bryant shook the world by leaving the Three Stripes after his second signature shoe for a deal with Nike. He bounced around a few models of Nikes and Jordans before settling down on the Nike Zoom Kobe 1 in 2005, and shifted basketball sneakers forever. Since then, the Kobe line has become one of the most worn in history, dominating every level from youth leagues to the pros. The shoes have reigned supreme on and off the court long past his retirement and untimely death in 2020. Now, his legacy lives on through players and sneaker collectors alike who carry the Mamba Mentality.
Kobe sneakers are rarely released these days. Nike's SNKRS app and website drop pairs from time to time, but for wider releases, stores like Dick's Sporting Goods and Shoe Palace as well as smaller boutiques like Sneaker Politics and Kith may have access.

Caitlin Clark's second-ever Nike Kobe PE is releasing on November 12, 2025. Find where and how to buy Caitlin's Nike Kobe 6 Protro Light Armory Blue here.
The Nike Kobe collection varies in fit depending on the model. Most of the sneakers run narrow, so we suggest going a half size up for maximum comfort.
As sought after as the sneaker is, there are not many collaborations. Since his passing, Nike has worked hard to protect the legacy of Kobe Bryant, opting instead for colorways inspired by his historic career and players that have carried the mantle since his retirement. That being said, Los Angeles streetwear and sneaker powerhouse Undefeated has collaborated on several pairs over the years. First working together in 2004, UNDFTD and Nike have focused on various Kobe-related models, but it wasn't until 2018 that we'd see a signature model feature branding from both parties. The Kobe 1, 4, and 5 have all been released as packs commemorating Kobe's history as one of the greatest players of all time.
