Nike Gives the Kobe 3 Protro Low a Mamba Magic Makeover

NBA All-Star Weekend was full of high-heat drops and debuts from across the footwear world, but arguably the most exciting was the first retail release of the Kobe 3 Protro Low. Vanessa Bryant and Nike debuted the new low-top version of the Kobe 3 last year to coincide with the Kobe 3 Protro Halo drop, with Aaliyah Chavez’s black PE and Jalen Brunson’s Knicks-themed pair being the only other two pairs we saw prior to the All-Star Warning Label colorway. But we’ve only just begun, as the barrage of Kobe 3 Lows slated for 2026 will truly start with the Mamba Magic rendition.

Featuring an upper comprised of light purple, pink, and black hues, the Mamba Magic Nike Kobe 3 Protro Low is inspired by The Forum’s purple lights that illuminate the arena during off-hours. The checkerboard criss-cross midfoot panel and mesh base below are done in the same purple shade, while a light pink hue is used for the leather toecap and the semi-translucent rubber outsole. Solid black hits appear on the heel tab, sockliner, and on the edge of the upper and midsole. Inside sits an Air Zoom Strobel unit and Cushlon 3.0 foam to bring the retro hoops shoe to the modern era.

Nike will be going all-in on the Nike Kobe 3 Protro Low throughout 2026, with a variety of different colorways planned. Outside of the All-Star Warning Label colorway, we expect at least eight different Kobe 3 Protro Low colorways. The exact themes for these pairs have not yet been revealed, but more info will come to light in the coming weeks and months.

The Nike Kobe 3 Protro Low Mamba Magic will be released March 13, 2026 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $190.
