We’ve seen sneaker debuts on basketball courts, runways, and elaborate scavenger hunts, but a wedding aisle is a first for us. That’s exactly what fashion designer Susan Fang did, debuting the ornate Nike Dunk Low collaboration from her self-titled label at her own wedding in June. Now that the honeymoon is over, we’ve got official photos and a release date to match.
The Susan Fang x Nike Dunk Low features light blue leather panels across the toe, heel, and lace protection, but that’s the only normal thing on the entire shoe. The toebox and side panels are made of a white, flowery lace fabric with a blue tint, but the panels take a back seat to the accessories protruding from every side. This includes three faux-pearl flower broaches attached to each shoe on the toebox, ankle, and heel, plus Swooshes crafted from strings of faux pearls. The shoe’s unique flair is finished with blue lace shoe strings and an icy blue outsole.
Susan Fang’s balletcore Nike collab was first spotted on the V2K Run in the same baby blue, lace, and pearl construction as the Dunk. The two-pack of frilly shoes is the latest iteration of the princess-friendly trend that’s seen shoes slim down and draw attention with unabashedly feminine design language. In a sneaker industry that long relied on a shrink it and pink it model for women’s models, the push to bring women and non-binary designers into the collaboration fold has been a breath of fresh air for the community.
The Susan Fang x Nike Dunk Low will be released on September 12, 2025, through Nike, Susan Fang, and select retailers in-store and online. Available in women's sizing, the retail price is set at $170.
