The advent of gorpcore and a push toward utilitarian footwear gave way for Salomon to finally gain some solid ground in fashion circles. Yes, the French-based outdoors brand has been a household name for winter sports enthusiasts for years, but the footwear world began to pay attention throughout the 2020s. Since receiving interest from sneakerheads, Salomon has rightfully tapped into the world of collaborations, partnering with designers, retailers, and other fashion labels for makeovers on their staple silhouettes. Following up on a teaser from Andrew Skate Shop on the Miami-based retailer’s XT-6, UK boutique Footpatrol has announced release details for its Salomon XT-4 OG.
Footpatrol keeps things simple for its latest Salomon project, applying a black and white color palette to the sneaker. However, a symmetrical gradient on the mesh splits the design into two separate halves. The lateral side comes in black, with white fused TPU film reinforcing the mesh base. On the medial side, things are inverted as the mesh base is coated in white and the TPU film is done in black.
