Skate shops don’t usually show up at Fashion Week, but Andrew isn’t most skate shops. The Miami-based boutique has been putting out its own clothing and prominent collabs for years now, so for last week’s NYFW, the Andrew team hit 95 North and set up shop in the LES with a multi-day pop-up.
During the downtown festivities, StockX’s Brendan Dunne posted a picture of a pair of orange gradient Salomon samples hanging from the ceiling with the caption “Andrew, Salomon, Miami, etc.”
The collaboration, the first between Salomon and a skate shop, appears to be a University of Miami-colored XT-6 with a mesh upper that shifts from orange in the toe to a pale yellowish green in the heel. This sits above a black support panel with white accents. The midsole features a stripe of speckled orange and black above a black outsole. A white Salomon logo is visible on the heel, with the white LAB logo on the toe replaced with the Miami area code, 305, and a black Quicklace system used on the tongue.
Located in the middle of Miami’s posh design district, Andrew is a staple of the local skate community, releasing local videos and throwing community events. In addition to the upcoming Salomon collab and partnerships with skate brands like Carpet Company, Andrew has also released local collaborations with the Miami Dolphins and legendary South Beach dive bar Mac’s Club Deuce. Before he was traded to the Golden State Warriors, Jimmy Butler, whose Big Face Coffee flagship is just two doors down from Andrew, had been seen hanging around the shop on occasion.
We haven’t seen any more pictures or release info for the Andrew x Salomon collab, but we’re definitely glad the Andrew team took the trip to the Big Apple to show off the preview.
