When you have an opportunity to design a brand new silhouette for a sneaker brand as storied as Salomon, it’s no time to be sheepish. For Paris boutique The Broken Arm, the latest iteration of its long-running collaboration with Salomon is sheep-obsessed, a new walking boot inspired by the animal husbandry of the wool-farming shepherd.
The Broken Arm x Salomon Pastoral
The first colorway of the all-new Pastoral reenacts the shepherd's life on a high-top walking boot, mixing green suede, tan canvas, and white faux sheep fur to bring the story to life. The shoe features Salomon branding on the lateral heel and S-LAB logos on the black weatherproof toebox, with The Broken Arm’s intertwined boxes logo on the tongue.
“Our inspiration for this pair comes from the idea of a nomadic shepherd, moving with the flock in search of natural grazing resources, thereby helping to sustain a broader ecosystem that includes livestock: pastoralism,” The Broken Arm wrote. “With this model, we sought to create a pair reminiscent of walking shoes, characterized by the height of their sturdy and comfortable uppers, as a companion to the shepherd's wanderings.”
The Broken Arm and Solomon have been releasing new silhouettes for years now, building on the trail-running brand’s outdoor expertise with the X-Alpages GTX, XT-Quest 2, and the XT-DESALPES.
The Broken Arm x Salomon Pastoral will be released September 15, 2025 through The Broken Arm and Salomon. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at €183 (approx. $257).
