Salomon and The Broken Arm are at it again, building on their partnership that has previously given us the X-DESALPES and the XT-Quest 2. The upcoming Broken Arm x Salomon X-Alpages GTX—set for a two-stage release in September—promises to merge functionality with contemporary fashion.
This iteration takes the ALPAGES silhouette and infuses it with an amalgamation of materials to deliver a weather-resistant finish, thanks to its Gore-Tex coating. The nappy and short-haired suede, ripstop nylon, rubber, and leather make for a durable, high-performance shoe. For its color palette, burgundy and red come with pink accents on the Salomon-branded leather overlay and lace set. A nod to its intended purpose, hiking, an orange walking stick is embroidered atop the tongue, and co-branding can be found on the brown insole, which features The Broken Arm's mountain logo. Rounding out the look is the brown midsole accentuated by a lugged black rubber outsole.
The Broken Arm x Salomon X-Alpages GTX will release September 6, 2023, via The Broken Arm and September 13, 2023, through Salomon online. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price has yet to be announced.
