Some young NBA stars struggle to find their voice amidst veterans and coaches. Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards has never had that problem. Always ready to talk trash and back it up, Edwards is the alpha of the Timberwolves pack, and the latest colorway of his adidas AE 2 is all bite, no bark.
The adidas AE 2 Alphadawg is a simple mix of black and white with subtle hints of T-Wolves-friendly blue. Starting with white reinforced mesh on the side panels and black on the lace panels and inner bootie, the toe gets a hit of metallic grey, while the vented TPU panels that stretch up the forefoot are done in a mix of dark greyish blue on the outside with a brighter blue mesh underneath. The bright blue color is also used for the AE tongue logo, but otherwise, the black and white colorway continues throughout the rest of the shoe.

After the success of the adidas AE 1, the Three Stripes and Ant-Man are back with another mix of high design and peak performance. 20% lighter than Ant’s first signature shoe, the AE 2 is built on a base of Lightstrike cushioning and Lighboost foam, with a propulsion plate for even more spring. We can’t guarantee they will give you hops like AE, but then again, no one has hops like AE.
The adidas AE 2 will be released December 6, 2025 through adidas and select retailers in-store and online. Available in adult and youth sizing, the retail prices are set at $130 for adult pair and $100 for grade school sizes. To keep up with every new adidas AE drop, download the Sole Retriever mobile app.
