Unfortunately, Anthony Edwards has to face the 2024-2025 NBA MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the Oklahoma City Thunder in the playoffs. Right now, Ant-Man and his squad are down 2-0 in the Western Conference Finals against SGA, but that doesn’t mean they’re out of the postseason picture. If they can pull through, Ant may debut the follow-up to his popular adidas AE 1 sneaker, the AE 2, in the finals. While this isn’t confirmed to happen, Sole Retriever has yet another AE 2 to debut: Core Black Lime Burst.
Quickly following up looks at the All-Star colorway and the Lucid Pink Core Black, this mock-up of the Core Black Lime Burst colorway, which is based on the actual pair Sole Retriever was able to view, comes in a clean two-tone finish. Black mesh takes over the midfoot paneling, collar, tongue, and heel counter, while pops of lime burst are present on the toecap and branding for Anthony Edwards and adidas.
This lime green hue also finds a home on the edge of the TPU louvres, which help reinforce the upper on the lateral and medial sides of the forefoot and the heel. Inside the louvres sits a black TPU finish. Finally, adidas packs Edwards’ second model with a Lightboost and Lightstrike cushion combo, pairing this with a glow-in-the-dark lime rubber outsole containing a multi-directional herringbone traction pattern.
