NFL Crocs are the Perfect Tailgate Shoes
Summertime may be great for vacations, but there’s a serious drought for sports fans during the hottest months of the year. There is the MLB and WNBA, but football fans (and fans of hockey and basketball) have to wait till the fall for their fix. Luckily, it’s almost time for the NFL regular season to kick off. While we’ve become accustomed to Nike releasing themed collections of footwear and apparel with the league, Crocs has finally landed an official licensing deal with the National Football League.
Photos of 14 team colorways appeared today, with these set to launch next month/ The initial offering will feature shoes for The Buffalo Bills, Chicago Bears, Cincinatti Bengals, Denver Broncos, Dallas Cowboys, Kansas City Chiefs, Miami Dolphins, Philadelphia Eagles, Detroit Lions, Las Vegas Raiders, Houston Texans, Pittsburgh Steelers, Minnesota Vikings, and San Francisco 49ers. The other 18 NFL teams will have their pairs launch at a later date.
The shoes range in style from racing stripes down the middle to blocking the entire upper in team colors, but the most unique bit of each shoe comes from the custom Jiblets. Ranging from fins splashing down onto the Dolphins’ shoes to horns on both the Bills and Vikings, and fuzzy claws on the toes of the Bears' Crocs, they didn’t spare the details for the accessories. It’s not uncommon for Crocs and outside partners to limit these collabs to just a graphic print or color scheme, so it’s great to see the NFL bring extra flair to their debut project.
