Microsoft Celebrates Windows XP with a Crocs Classic Clog Collab
Published
In this writer's opinion, and the opinion of millions worldwide, Windows XP is probably the greatest operating system ever from Microsoft. Maybe that’s the nostalgia talking but the fact this OS from 2001 was still in use throughout the mid-2010s is a testament to how beloved it was.
Even if you’re too young to fully remember using PCs with XP or were a Macintosh user during this era, it’s almost guaranteed you’ve seen the default desktop background Microsoft chose for the OS (Bliss), as it’s estimated to be the most viewed photograph in history. To honor the company’s 50th anniversary, Microsoft has just launched an employee-exclusive Crocs Classic Clog inspired by Windows XP.

The Classic Clog’s design directly references the iconic Bliss photograph, with the Croslite foam upper coated in a graphic depicting the cloud-filled sky. The rolling green hills are represented via the green foam used on the interior and on the sole unit, while Windows XP Jibbitz charms are placed on the toebox. Here, you’ll find the Office Assistant Clippy, though he won’t be bothering you as much as he did when he was included in various Office software. Other charms include a black pixelated mouse pointer, the recycle bin, a folder, the Internet Explorer icon, and the MSN butterfly.
Unfortunately for the public, the Microsoft x Crocs Classic Clog Windows XP is exclusive to Microsoft employees. It’s possible we will see the pair drop at a later date but for now, you can take a look at screenshots of the Crocs below.
