Sometimes trends get so saturated they break out of cultural containment and take on new, unexpected life. That’s exactly what has happened to the sneaker loafer, as brands didn’t expect this niche segment of the market to go so viral. Outdoor brand Keen, known for its corded camping shoes, is jumping on the hybrid loafer bandwagon, constructing a new silhouette to blend formal vibes and athletic performance. If we’re being honest, this might be the best hybrid loafer yet.
The Keen UNEEK Loafter WK debuts in a premium black leather with a dark brown leather interior, bringing classic formal attire to the hybrid model. The upper is a traditional loafer minus the Keen-specific flair, bringing the brand’s signature stretchy cord to the toebox details and running around the entire upper, keeping with the loafer design. The Keen Curve foam midsole is a thick, running rocker sole for ultimate comfort in the office or on the track.

New Balance was the first sneaker brand to bring out the loafer hybrid with the 1906L, but that was followed by a Nike, Converse, Vans, and Hoka interpretation, all combining athletic soles and a loafer upper. The trend has been holding strong with sold out colorways across brands, but now that the Keen UNEEK is on the scene, well, don’t say we didn’t warn you.
The Keen UNEEK will be released August 28, 2025, through Keen and select retailers online and in-store. Available in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $190.
