With companies shifting out of brick-and-mortar retail locations in favor of online web stores, it’s not too often we see innovative and creative in-store shopping experiences, however, Jordan Brand and its parent company Nike are still creating new concepts for customers to experience in person. Speaking on the former of the two labels, JB has just opened a brand new retail concept dedicated to the brand in Milan - Jordan World of Flight.
Infusing streetwear, basketball culture, community, and local creatives, the storefront carries footwear and apparel for men, women, and kids while also offering more than a standard Nike or JB storefront. As we have all become accustomed to, online retail shopping leads to a weaker connection to a particular brand so giving customers experiences like a Members Lounge, customizable product offerings, and beautiful artwork from local artists should lead to those who step foot into the storefront a true connection to the ethos of Jordan Brand.
Craig Williams, President of Jordan Brand, stated “Opening Jordan World of Flight represents a truly exciting milestone for Jordan Brand. With World of Flight, we unveil a destination centered in our heritage and basketball culture.”
Deeping the connection with locals, materials used to build the storefront, art, and murals were all sourced locally with the artists (like Stefano Summo) depicting basketball courts and teams, the surrounding community, and Jordan folklore that connects to Milan and Italy.
To visit the 363-square-meter Jordan World of Flight Milan, head down to Via Torino, 21 in Milan, Italy as the storefront opened on December 16th, 2022. Although not explicitly stated in JB’s press release, we hopefully will receive more locations across the globe in the future.
