Nike Air Ship Banned

Thirty six years after MJ debuted them on-court, the legendary Nike Air Ship Banned is finally set to launch to the general public in extremely limited quantities. This is the very sneaker which violated the NBA's uniform policy back in 1984, resulting in the league forcing MJ to halt any further wearing of the shoe. This is also the sneaker that sparked the iconic Black/Red color scheme which would go on to dress decades of Jordan retros to this very day; 2016's release of the "Banned" Air Jordan 1's is a prime example. This beautiful silhouette features a black leather base with red overlays hitting the heels and signature Swoosh. A clean white midsole sits atop the fresh red rubber outsole to complete the classic look.

The Nike Air Ship Banned will be launching exclusively via raffle on August 7th at the Italian boutique, Back-Door. There are rumors (and hopes) of a wider release in the future, but nothing has been confirmed yet on that front.
